WordPress has launched a new AI-powered tool, Write Brief with AI, to help users of self-hosted WordPress sites improve their content creation. Developed by Automattic, the tool aims to simplify writing by condensing lengthy sentences into concise, readable text, while also boosting content confidence. Available in beta, Write Brief with AI is part of the Jetpack suite and can be easily accessed via a plugin, empowering users to refine their writing and enhance their online content.

WordPress Gets a New AI Tool

In a recent blog post, WordPress unveiled its latest innovation: Write Brief with AI, a cutting-edge writing tool designed to help bloggers craft clear and concise content. Initially codenamed "Breve" (Latin for "brief"), this AI-powered solution was developed by Automattic's Jetpack AI team to address the need for precise and effective writing on the platform.

Once installed as a plugin via Jetpack, the Write Brief with AI tool is conveniently accessible on the editor page, next to the publish button. This innovative tool provides four key features, including:

• Readability scoring: Assigns a grade level score to content, indicating its clarity and readability. A handy side panel displays the corresponding grade level, helping users gauge their text's accessibility.

• For optimal readability, WordPress recommends targeting a score of 8-12, ensuring content is easily understandable by a wide audience.
• In addition to readability scoring, the Write Brief with AI plugin offers three more features to enhance content clarity:

• Sentence refinement: Identifies overly long or descriptive sentences, allowing users to review and revise them. The AI also provides suggestions for improvement, streamlining the editing process.

   

  

• Word simplification: Detects complex words and offers alternative simpler options, making it easier for readers to comprehend the text. This feature enables users to convey their message more effectively, ensuring a wider audience can understand their content.

• The fourth feature of the Write Brief with AI plugin is :

• Confidence metric: which assesses the text's tone and language usage. It identifies words and phrases that convey uncertainty, such as "possibly", "might", or "maybe", and suggests more assertive alternatives to enhance the text's confidence and authority. 

  

• Additionally, users can conveniently replace multiple uncertain words with a single click, streamlining the process of refining their tone and projecting a more decisive voice in their writing.
• The Write Brief with AI tool is currently available in beta on Jetpack, and WordPress is offering it to all users at no cost during this testing phase. However, once the tool is officially launched, it may transition to a paid premium feature. The company has not disclosed which specific AI model is driving the tool's capabilities, but it's clear that they're investing in innovative technology to enhance the user experience.
